1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we’ve tested. They have motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top pick) they employ smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans and avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also have a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot’s power when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top option. One of them is that the Q5’s navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it’s prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn’t navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests.
