1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. They feature motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other top iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize smart mapping technology to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also have Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5’s navigation system doesn’t include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn’t have a camera that can see around corners.

It’s still a great deal for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. Additionally, it’s quiet and you can use it while you’re at work or at school. The only thing it doesn’t have that you don’t get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It’s also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes, which don’t stick on for long and don’t handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few seconds.
